Stuff it, and I flunked
It has been two days since John, and I stuffed a lot of insulation in the void on top of the Casita refrigerator. Like everything to do with the Casita, it involves more than just stuffing insulation into a void.
We knew it would take more than 30 minutes. We started at almost nine in the morning with 115-degree heat and high humidity. We finished about two hours later.
It was a complete success. However, then it was time to hitch up, and I got my first lesson in backing up the Casita.
It was a disaster. I won’t bother you with the details. I’m sure you have seen enough mishaps of people either not knowing what they were doing… or just being ignorant and shouldn’t be driving anything anyway.
I had enough distractions. The groomer called and said the dogs were ready to pick up in twenty minutes. By that time, it was 11:30 and we had a therapy visit scheduled for one o’clock. With my normal misfire planning, I didn’t have cash, and they don’t take credit cards. Thus, I was forced to first go home, change my totally wet sweated shirt and then go pick up the dogs.
But I was hitched to the Casita.
Long story short. I did manage to back the Casita into my site. It wasn’t a pretty bunch of back-n-fill maneuvers. After more than a dozen helpful tips, John painfully suffered in silence as he watched me get more frustrated.
When I was training my dogs, I had the luxury of physically picking up Bernie or Chris and placing them exactly where I wanted them to be. I didn’t have that option when backing the Casita. <sigh>
However, I did back it in place.
That was Tuesday. Now it is noon on Wednesday. I am in a much calmer mood. I don’t have any time commitments. I have a hi-tech sweat band that works to keep the sweat from dripping on my glasses.
I will be successful today. And I was. (well somewhat… but I have some confidence now). Tomorrow I move the Casita to be in front of my home.
It will take time but you’ll get there. Hang in there and keep the dream alive.
